At the centre of the exhibition on farming life during the Viking Age in the city is a Viking longhouse, and there is plenty more to see as well. For those with a head for heights, a visit to this tower that soars to over 240ft is well worth the effort. The tallest building in the country, the tower offers the best views over the city. There is a lift that takes you up to the bell tower where there are three bells - one representing Hallgrímur, one his wife and one his daughter.
